CALEDONIA—In celebration of the festive season, and to mark the start of the renovations to the “Old Arena”, the Caledonia Agricultural Society is hosting the first-ever Riverside Pre-Christmas Levee on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Caledonia Fairgrounds.
The event will give participants a chance to take part in holiday activities, and “Get the Snowball Rolling” on the Riverside Exhibition Centre. Activities include carol singing, horse drawn wagon rides, a holiday photo area, kids craft area, and a Christmas cookie eating contest. People can enjoy “The Berry Patch” with festive foods like hot dog, chili, hot chocolate and coffee. Food donations will be accepted for the food bank, plus there will be a station collecting new winter mittens, gloves and hats for those in need. There will be booths on site selling holiday greenery, and memorabilia from the “Old Arena”. The day will also give people a chance to see the start of progress as the fair’s exhibition hall starts its transformation from its current state to the Riverside Exhibition Centre. The renovation will be ongoing throughout the next several months, with completion slated for the 2019 Caledonia Fair next September.
Information on tax deductible donations to support the “Creating Memories, Building Community Fairground Building Campaign” will be available on site, or at caledoniafair.ca/reno.
