Have your say: Diesel spill at Nanticoke Refinery

Dear Editor,
The June 6, 2019 (Haldimand Press) report on the diesel spill at Nanticoke was at least partially reassuring. At the time of writing, the Ministry of the Environemnt (MOE) spokesman could affirm that “the spill appears to be contained” and that there was “no impact to wildlife at (that) time.” Moreover, it was encouraging to read that “the company has submitted a draft clean-up plan for Hickory Creek” and “will submit a clean-up plan for the wetland,” as well as that “the ministry will continue to oversee clean-up and remediation efforts.”
