Hagersville business supports veteran banner program

To The Haldimand Press

HAGERSVILLE—Tim’s Tirecraft – Hagersville has graciously made a corporate donation of $500 to the Hagersville Veteran Banner Program. The program’s organizers are truly grateful for this generous donation to assist the cost of maintaining this program.

In 2023, the Hagersville & District Chamber of Commerce was very excited to announce that Hagersville would be displaying veteran street banners.

For the first year, 94 veteran street banners were displayed to honour and pay tribute to local veterans who enlisted from Hagersville and served overseas.

Since the display of those banners, additional families have come forward to honour their loved ones. These additional banners will be displayed with the previous 94 banners on utility poles along Main and King Street in Hagersville each year from June (Decoration Day) through to November 11 (Remembrance Day).

We know that this program is an opportunity for our community to honour, educate and remember the sacrifices the veterans made so that we may live in peace and enjoy the freedoms we have today.

To make this program possible, the net amount we need to raise for the veteran banner program is $20,000, which will cover the cost of installing and removing the banners, and hardware for the new banners.

The Hagersville Chamber is accepting donations, individual, and corporate support. A charitable receipt will be issued at a later date to anyone who makes a contribution to the Veteran’s Banner Program.

If you are interested, donations can be made by cash or cheque. They can be dropped off at the Haldimand County Office in Cayuga ATTN: CPD or at Tim’s Tirecraft – Hagersville, ATTN: Brenda Gallant.
