Help Scout youth chart their own path

HAGERSVILLE—Scouting in the Hagersville area is something youth aged five and up from the Hagersville United Church have been participating in since 2002.

Stimulated through youth-led teamwork, fun activities, and exploration, under the supervision of adult mentors, boys and girls develop the self-confidence, values, and problem-solving skills that will guide them through every future adventure, at every stage of life.

Scouting provides kids with a range of activities and experiences that no other youth program can match. Outdoor discovery, community service, physical activity, and hands-on learning are at the heart of our program. Scouting gives kids something fun to look forward to. Through outdoor play and adventures with friends, Scouts helps youth build resilience and confidence, and discover their capabilities by learning new skills.

When Scouting thrives, so do communities. Scouts lead positive change through environmental conservation projects, amplifying social issues, and supporting humanitarian causes. Youth learn about being good citizens in their community, in Canada, and in the world. Scouts allows youth to make meaningful contributions to creating a better world as an active member of their community. From food and clothing drives to park cleanups and maintenance, Scouts encourages kids to give back.

The fun doesn’t stop when you grow up. Making a positive difference for youth is as easy as putting your enthusiasm into play in the great outdoors! Volunteers connect with a supportive community of Scouters to share ideas, gain tips, and strengthen the program experience to further benefit youth.

Through passion and dedication to Scouting, volunteers help youth make meaningful contributions to creating a better world by caring for people, communities, and neighbourhoods, and allow more young people to experience all the benefits that Scouting has to offer.

Yes, you can be a section Scouter to help run meetings, but there are lots of other ways to volunteer with Scouts too. Volunteer locally in management, finance, administration, or teach first aid and outdoors skills. Or join virtually in leadership, communications, fundraising, and more! Registration to volunteer is open now at scouts.ca/volunteer.

Get the process started by opening a MyScouts Account (myscouts.ca) today and completing the registration form, or by emailing join@scouts.ca.
