CALEDONIA—When Zach Mumby started football in Grade 10, he dreamed of someday playing at McMaster University in Hamilton. That dream just came much closer to reality as the 18-year-old McKinnon Park Secondary School (MPSS) student signed a letter of intent on January 17, 2019, surrounded by coaches, teammates, family, and friends.
While Mumby trained as quarterback (QB), he was a receiver in Grade 11 before earning the starting QB spot in Grade 12.
His talent was demonstrated throughout that season, culminating in the SOSSA final when he threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns.
He recalls, “That made me realize that I have what it takes to play at a higher level.”
