OPP charge over 500 people in Festive RIDE campaign

HALDIMAND—The Festive RIDE campaign resulted in OPP officers removing 539 alcohol/drug-impaired drivers from roads during RIDE stops between November 23, 2018 and January 2, 2019. An additional 384 drivers were issued Warn Range Suspensions for having a Blood Alcohol Concentration in the .05 to .08 range.

In Haldimand, officers charged eight people for impairment by alcohol and one by drug; and four people received three-day suspensions for registering between 50 and 80 milligrams of alcohol. This was an increase of four people compared to 2017.
