DUNNVILLE—On December 22, 2023, at approximately 10:16 p.m., Haldimand OPP responded to a traffic complaint at a Queen Street, Dunnville address.
Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently taken into custody without incident. Charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs is a 29-year-old of Haldimand County.
The following day at approximately 10:49 p.m., Haldimand OPP responded to a traffic complaint at a Broad Street East, Dunnville address.
It was determined that a vehicle went through the drive thru of a business and employees contacted 911 to report a suspected impaired driver.
Officers attended the area, however the vehicle had left prior to the arrival of police. Patrols were conducted and, as a result, the vehicle was located and the driver was taken into custody without incident.
Charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) is a 20-year-old of Haldimand County.
Both accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Cayuga at a later date.
“The OPP would like to thank the good samaritans that contacted police to report these incidents. As a direct result of their phone call, officers were able to locate the vehicle and take the driver into custody without incident,” said Inspector Jodi Kays, Detachment Commander, Haldimand OPP.
