Land Back Lane spokesperson faces six charges related to McKenzie Meadows

CALEDONIA—Skyler Williams, spokesperson of the Land Back Lane movement, presented himself to the OPP on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 to face charges for his role. That date marked 10 months since the self-described land defenders took control of the McKenzie Meadows housing development.

“It’s been 10 months of having these warrants hanging over my head and having to constantly look over your shoulder to see whether or not this was going to be an interaction with the OPP. I certainly didn’t want that to happen in front of my daughters,” explained Williams on his decision to turn himself in, as he wanted to avoid a traumatic encounter in the presence of his daughters.
