JARVIS—In early August 2018 we received a call for a baby beaver in distress. A gentleman had found a small beaver kit alone in his tiny garden pond. I knew right away something was wrong. Beavers have very strong family bonds and they never leave their kits behind, so to find a beaver that young without other adults around is a good indicator something is awry.
After a physical exam we found that the kit was emaciated and dehydrated. With the help of fluids and nutrition we managed to stabilize him.
