Impaired driver facing multiple charges

CALEDONIA—Haldimand OPP has charged a 40-year-old driver with impaired driving and other criminal offences following two collision investigations in Caledonia.

On Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 6:48 p.m., OPP and Haldimand County paramedics responded to Orkney Street West for a collision where it was reported a vehicle struck another vehicle on Highway 6 and then struck a parked vehicle on Orkney Street West. A witness reported they were assisting the driver who appeared injured and needed medical attention. According to a witness, a grey Honda Accord was travelling southbound on Highway 6 when it struck another vehicle from behind. The vehicle then continued on and turned onto Orkney Street West, where it struck another vehicle that was parked on the shoulder. The vehicle driver was examined by paramedics and transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
