Driver seriously injured in collision

JARVIS—Haldimand OPP has charged a 51-year-old driver after investigating a two-vehicle collision that seriously injured one of the drivers. The collision occurred on Highway 3 at Cheapside Road, just east of Jarvis.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 7:46 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services, and Haldimand County paramedics responded to the intersection of Highway 3 and Cheapside Road for a two-vehicle collision where it was reported one of the vehicles had rolled over and both drivers were trapped in their vehicles.

OPP investigation determined one of the vehicles was travelling southbound on Cheapside Road and entered the intersection and struck a vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Highway 3. The momentum of the crash then caused the eastbound vehicle to roll over and strike a tree.
