DUNNVILLE—Though no longer a bed and breakfast as it has been for the past 19 years, the Lalor Estate Inn will remain as stately and historically sound as always.
When they were newly married, Glen and Judy Brough had a dream to serve others and promote tourism. Glen admits, “It was a long dream; we dreamed for 10 years at least,” planning a future bed and breakfast before finally seeing that dream come true with the Lalor Estate Inn on Broad Street West in Dunnville.
Things started rolling during a garden tour at the home in 2001 when a fellow server told Judy she “would be perfect in this house.” Judy wasn’t as sure, responding, “Houses like this don’t happen to people like Glen and I. You’ve got to have a lot of money for a house like this.” The two agreed that “you never know” and, as it so happened, within about a month the Broughs were buying the house: “God brought us gently into the house and it was just amazing!”
