Jarvis Lions raffle off turkeys ahead of holidays

JARVIS—The Jarvis Lions Club held another successful Turkey Raffle this year on Thursday, November 19, 2020, and for the first time (in the memory of the older club members) tickets were completely sold out.

Although the popular fish fry held in conjunction with this event was cancelled due to the attendance restrictions in place, the Turkey Raffle still went on (without an audience). This year the draw was recorded live on Facebook and if you visit the Jarvis Lions Facebook page you will still be able to watch it. The Turkey Raffle proceeds this year will be going to help support five Lions camps: Lions Camp Dorset (kidney dialysis), CNIB Lake Joe (vision impairment), Camp Kirk (deaf), Rainbow Lake Camp Trillium (children’s cancer), and Camp Huronda (diabetes).
