HALDIMAND—While the public has been increasingly split over following COVID-19 restrictions, Haldimand County Bylaw department only laid one charge related to the restrictions in 2020, and so far, none in 2021.
“Bylaw employs an education-first approach to dealing with complaints,” said Randy Charlton, Manager of Building & Bylaw Enforcement for the County. “There is a general sense that the public is more aware that there are regulations, however many individuals have difficulty interpreting those regulations and how the regulations apply to them.”
