NANTICOKE—Haldimand OPP have arrested an individual in connection with a three-vehicle collision that occurred on August 13, 2021 and left one person deceased.
Martin Roy Matthews, 54-years-old of Nanticoke, is charged with:
- Careless Driving Causing Death and
- Driving While Under Suspension (x2).
A motorcycle and a passenger vehicle were struck from behind by a vehicle at the traffic signals at Highway 6 and First Line.
The rider of the motorcycle involved was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The rider of the motorcycle was later pronounced deceased by the attending physician.
The West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team was at the scene assisting with the investigation.
The intersection was closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were at the scene.
