Tractor-trailer impounded for stunt driving

CANFIELD—A tractor-trailer operator had their licence suspended for 30-days and their vehicle impounded for 14-days after they were caught driving more than 90km/h in a 50km/h zone in Haldimand County.

On Thursday, June 22, 2023 at approximately 9:07 a.m., an officer with Haldimand County OPP initiated a traffic stop on Highway 3 in Canfield.

The officer was conducting speed enforcement when they located a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. 

Police have charged a 22-year-old from Brampton with the following offences:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
  • Speeding – 1-49km/h Over Posted Limit.

The driver is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Cayuga at a later date.
