Peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Thursday October 19, 2023 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of 66 years to Eleanor (Cade) Heastont. Loving father of Paul & Jan, Mark & Mercy, and Bonnie & Rick Pepper. Dear granddad of Luke & Heather, Melissa & Rob, Andrew, Robin & Ding, Justin & Andrea, Ashley & Jerry, and 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by brother Ron & Merilieu, sister Irene Steinhoff, brother-in-law Don Bartlett, sister-in-laws Janet Heastont, Rosemary Cade, Dorothy McCormack, Patricia Cade, and many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by siblings Dorothy Armstrong, Jim, Doris Bartlett, Ralph, and Wayne.
Ferg was a volunteer firefighter with Selkirk Fire Department for over 35 years, and was employed at Dofasco for 30 years. He was an avid outdoors man, and enjoyed travelling.The family will honour his life with a visitation at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main St. S., Hagersville on Sunday October 22, 2023 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Selkirk Christian Chapel, 20 Erie St. N., Selkirk on Monday October 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. (Visitation one hour prior to service).
