It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allison on Monday, January 8, 2024, just shy of his 93rd birthday. A loving and devoted dad, grandpa and great-grandpa, Al has been reunited with the love of his life, his wife Frances. Cherished and supportive Dad of Doug and Cindy Murphy, Janet and Brad Randall, Paul Murphy and Steve Hawes. Loving and devoted Grandpa to Blair and Emma Randall, Beth Randall, and Brendan Murphy and P.J. Dominick. Adoring Great-Grandpa to Charlotte and Hunter Randall and Jonah Dominick. Survived by his sisters Betty Hines (Ken deceased), Myrtle and Eric Willis, and Ross and Karen Murphy. Predeceased by sister-in-law Kay (Murray) Coverdale. Will be missed by several nieces and nephews. For 35 years, Al was a dedicated Union Gas employee. He was a faithful long-time member of Grace United Church who served on many committees in several roles. Al was a lifetime member of the Caledonia Men’s Club. In 2007, he earned the Caledonia Citizen of the Year award for his leadership and commitment to serving his community. In his retirement, Al volunteered with Caledonia Senior Support for many years and joined Glanford Curling Club. He also spent time developing his skills as a woodworker, making countless wonderful creations for family and friends. One of Al’s favourite places was visiting his cottage on Whitestone Lake. Always a devoted family man, Al found his greatest joy in being with those he loved. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Al was passionate about the Masonic Order and was a driving force for all Masons in the Caledonia Region. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Lodge and was also a member of the Scottish Rite. He earned the prestigious honourary 33° in 2005. Visitation will be held at MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 28 Caithness Street East, Caledonia on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 2-4 and 6:30 – 8 pm.  A Masonic Service under the auspices of St. Andrew’s Lodge A.F.& A.M. will be held at the funeral home at 6 pm.  The funeral service will be held at Grace United Church, 174 Caithness Street East, Caledonia on Saturday, January 13 at 11 am.
