It is with sad hearts that wife Marion, and son, Jake Jr. said goodbye to their dearly loved husband and father on November 5, 2024. Jake was in his 92nd year, and had lived in Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre, Waterloo, since May 22, 2018. Jake will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and their families—Carolyn Braun of Brantford, Earle Vokes of Red Deer, Alberta, Rosemary Vokes of Innisfail, Alberta, and J.B. and Jill Vokes of Chilliwack, British Columbia. Jake was predeceased by his mother and father, Ivy and Jacob Fisher of Smithville, and brother-in-law, Alfred Braun of Brantford and sister-in-law Beth Vokes of Red Deer, Alberta. Jake served as a teacher and principal in the Haldimand area for 35 years before retiring in 1988. Many thanks to staff at Columbia Forest for their kindness and care shown to Jake while at Columbia Forest was greatly appreciated. At Jake’s request, there will be no visitation or memorial service.
