It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill, on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Brantford General Hospital, in his 77th year. A beloved brother, uncle and friend. Bill was the cherished son of the late Monty and Vera Wight. Dearly loved brother of MaryAnn (Ken) Willson and Nancy (Wayne) Smith and honorary brother of Dana (John) Stavinga and Lori (Brian) Attard. Bill leaves behind a legacy of laughter, especially among his many nieces and nephews and their families who will deeply miss his relentless teasing and unforgettable wit. A spirited and loving presence at every family gathering. He was a man of strong passions and found joy and purpose in farming, trucking cattle, and sharing stories with anyone who would stop to chat. He had a gift for conversation and made friends wherever he went. Among those closest to him was his dear friend Gord (Chris) Forbes with whom he shared many years of camaraderie and connection. Bill’s life will be remembered not only for his humour and stubborn charm but for his deep love he had for his family and the strong bonds he maintained throughout his life. He was a very important part of our family, and his absence will be deeply felt- especially around the table at our family gatherings. — We will always be on “BILLY TIME”. — In our hearts, his stories, laughter and legacy will live on. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Bill’s spirit, a private family service will be held at a later date. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe.
