On Sunday, July 5th, 2026, Michael (71) suddenly passed away in his wife Sue’s arms. Michael leaves behind his wife, Sue, of 49 years; daughter Lauren; son Matt; daughter-in-law Nicole; and 3 beautiful granddaughters: Claire, Katie, and Sarah. Brother of Sandra and her husband, Michael, of Hagersville. Cousin (brother) of Anthony Yacobino and his partner, Daria. Predeceased by his father, Bill, and mother, Lena. Michael was retired from the law firm McCarthy Fowler in Hagersville. To say Michael was a sports fan would be an understatement; he lived and breathed sports. Whether professional or college, baseball, hockey, basketball, football, and golf. He was a walking database on all things sports, history, and politics. Michael was blessed when it came to friends; many were like brothers to him, with daily phone calls, which he looked forward to. Donations in Michael’s name can be made to Caledonia and District Food Bank and Community Support Centre Haldimand Norfolk.
There will be a gathering to celebrate his life at the Caledonia Lions Community Centre on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 1-4 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia (905) 765-2712.
