SELKIRK—Thomas Solutions, a commercial vehicle service centre on Main Street West in Selkirk, burned down on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 after a “combustible fluid ignited as a result of a spill and its proximity to a heating source,” said Fire Chief Jason Gallagher.
OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services, and Haldimand County paramedics responded to the business at 9:02 a.m., just six minutes after getting the call, to find a fully-engulfed structure fire. Fire stations from Selkirk, Fisherville, Jarvis, Cayuga, Hagersville, and South Cayuga were on scene.
When asked about the scene on arrival, Gallagher said, “Heavy fire and turbulent smoke conditions at the southwest corner of the building with heavy turbulent smoke conditions visible through the roof of the entire structure.”
