The Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team (MCRRT) has been present in Haldimand Norfolk since 2017. MCRRT partners an experienced mental health professional with a uniformed Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer. A member of MCRRT will ride with an officer and respond to calls regarding mental health illness, substance abuse, behavioural disorders, and people in acute crisis situations.
Not only does MCRRT respond to calls where a crisis is present, but if they are available, they will go to other scenes and be present for victims and/or witnesses as well.
