HALDIMAND — Niagara Dog Rescue (NDR) is a registered non-profit, 100% volunteer-based charitable organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs find a new home.
This past week, volunteers from NDR drove to northern Manitoba. Working with Manitoba Animal Alliance, NDR was able to rescue 30 dogs who need homes. Most are puppies or young dogs, but they have also brought back five pregnant dogs who desperately need a foster home for approximately 10 weeks.
NDR covers the costs for all dogs in foster care. The dogs are fully vetted before they are placed. It’s a wonderful opportunity to take care of a dog for those who cannot make a long-term commitment.
Although the weather will prevent NDR from driving back to Manitoba, there are plans to fly back and bring dogs back to Ontario. These dogs will otherwise not survive the winter.
Niagara Dog Rescue’s motto is, “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.”
There are many ways people can help. Adopt a dog. Foster a dog. Donate. Volunteer your time. Share this with others. For more information, please go to niagaradogrescue.com.
