There is much discussion about the role technology plays in our lives, but for these sisters it has proven to be the perfect tool to help them remain close. Grace and Juliet Kett grew up in Fisherville. Grace now resides in Belle River and Juliet in Jarvis. About two years ago Grace asked Juliet if she would be interested in connecting over Facetime to prepare a recipe together. That was the start of their weekly Wednesday evening tradition.

Grace (left) and Juliet Kett show their meals to each other –
a beef platter and beet gallette – over a Facetime visit.
Juliet admitted she did not enjoy cooking. With Grace’s guidance, her culinary skills have improved, which has contributed to her increased confidence in the kitchen. Their dad, Larry Kett, also benefits from this arrangement. He often joins Juliet in the kitchen to catch up with Grace and contribute to the conversation. Sometimes, a little too much, as Juliet often needs to ask him to leave so she can concentrate on the recipe! These girls have exposed their dad to a wide range of new foods and Juliet says after the first bite he always says, “very good Juliet”!
Their Facetime activities have grown to include craft days, colouring, and crocheting together. This only proves that where this is a will, there is a way. Enjoy!
