Paisley Helder was one of the young, prize-winning exhibitors at the Caledonia Fair. Paisley is 8 years old, and the daughter of Megan and Dan Helder of Fisherville. Her Pake and Beppe are Joe and Ann Helder.

Megan told me Paisley became interested in baking when she was old enough to use all the “power tools” in the kitchen. Paisley loves kitchen gadgets! Megan prefers cooking with savoury spices rather than baking sweets. So, it was under the guidance of a special neighbour, Barb Black, that Paisley learned to bake. The two of them enjoy not only baking, but creating lots of different things together. It is Barb’s cookie recipe that Paisley entered into the fair and was rewarded with a first prize placing!
