Anne Cavanagh
Many in Hagersville and Jarvis will be familiar with the Cavanagh name and the matriarch of this family is Anne. We recently had a chance to chat and Anne enthusiastically shared with me her chocolate fudge cake, along with its backstory.
To put things into perspective, we need to start at the beginning. Anne grew up in Timmins and then moved with her family to Blind River. It was there she was first introduced to her future husband Paul. While Anne moved to Toronto to pursue a career in nursing at St. Michael’s Hospital, Paul was working toward a career as a pharmacist. After marrying, they relocated to many places in Canada and the USA, before settling in Hagersville in 1975.
