I wanted to take a treat to the staff at my doctor’s office and to the girls at physio when I went last week and it was too hot to bake for long, so I decided to try this chocolate walnut crack recipe that I found in a Food Network magazine a while ago. It takes only 8 minutes in the oven and is absolutely delicious. Next time I make it I will push the walnuts down a bit into the melted chocolate so that they stick better. I found that many of them fell off while I was breaking it up.

I got this recipe for onion beer bread from an old copy of a newspaper and it looked like a good one. I tried it and used fresh rosemary, but next time I make it I will try using Italian seasoning. The recipe recommended enjoying it while it was warm, so I simply heated the leftover pieces up in the microwave.

This pasta salad is from one of the cooking classes that I attended at Zehrs in Caledonia. It is really a good one. When I made it, I used cherry tomatoes and didn’t use the chicken bouillon, but added a bit of salt and pepper. Be sure to add the lettuce just before serving as the lettuce gets a bit soft if you have any left over.
