The buttermilk blueberry muffin recipe is from my friend, Yvonne Therrien of Caledonia. Yvonne uses frozen blueberries with good results. These muffins are delicious and a favourite with her family. 

The butterscotch Rice Krispie bars recipe is from a Mount Zion United Church cookbook. They are very simple to make and  very tasty, too. Be sure to let them set up well before attempting to cut them into bars. I let them cool in the fridge and then after they were completely set, I left them on the counter for a half hour before slicing them, using a pizza cutter. 

Spinach mushroom quiche is a recipe that I have used a few times and it always turns out well. 

Acts of Kindness: My friend helped pay off the cash balance for a woman’s groceries (she was in her 90s) when her card wouldn’t work and she was short for cash. A friend of hers in the store also offered to pay for it with her credit card, and after my friend went back to see if she needed help loading the groceries in her car she saw a staff member helping her with that. Three different neighbours have been helping me with shopping, banking, and other chores since I had recent surgery.
