One of the things I enjoy the most in life is visiting with friends and family. Nothing makes me happier than having a cup of coffee, something to eat, and chatting about everything and anything! I did just that this week with my friend Debbie Daniels. Debbie has a terrific sense of humour, seeing the funny side of every situation, so there are always funny stories to be shared. Debbie and her husband Rob are retired and live in rural Caledonia. They have two children, Stacey and Corey, and enjoy five grandchildren. Debbie loves to garden and has worked hard to make their family home property a beautiful spot.
Debbie had prepared a sweet treat to serve with the coffee – “Pineapple Delight.” It was so light and refreshing, the perfect summer time dessert. As we were discussing other desserts the family have enjoyed over the years, Debbie’s husband Rob joined in the conversation. They agreed the second recipe Debbie provided, “Saucy Hot Fudge Pudding,” was liked by all the family. Rob started to reminisce about the wonderful dishes his grandmother used to make. Out came the old Oneida Church cookbook and he started to look up what recipes were submitted by her. Definitely a story for another day! Enjoy!
