Barbara passed away peacefully at home in Fenelon Falls after a long, 28-year battle with Parkinson’s. She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Kelly (Joe Pillsworth) and Jennifer (Steve Brough); and her mother, Lenore Fathers. She is also lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren: Ryder, Ryan, and Lauren. Barbara was predeceased by her father, Ross Fathers, and her in-laws, Robin and Thelma Haney. Barbara grew up in Dunnville, attending both public and high school there, before going on to study at Hamilton Teachers College. After marrying David, the couple moved to Niagara Falls in 1968, where they spent 37 wonderful years together. In addition to raising her two children, Barbara worked as an elementary school teacher. In 2005, the Haneys returned to Dunnville, where they lived at their lakeside residence until 2018. At that time, they moved to their current home in Fenelon Falls to be closer to their daughter, Kelly. Barbara loved her many trips to Florida, Cape Hatteras, California, Texas, and local inns. Most of all, she cherished her time spent at the family’s lakeside home on Horseshoe Bay, just outside Dunnville.Family gatherings were especially important to Barbara. She was always upbeat, supportive, and well-liked by all who knew her. There will be no visitation. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Dunnville.
