Surrounded by her loving family at Norview Lodge, Simcoe, Olive was promoted to the arms of her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Hoskin (1976). Loving mother of Fred Hoskin (late Audrey) of Simcoe, the late Bob Hoskin of Hartford, and Bonnie Kirk (Ian) of Waterford. Cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother of Lori Blad (Dave), children Rachel, Jonah and Isaac; Johanna Cousineau (Bret), children Kylie, Sean, Libby, Courtney and Beaux; Amy Sovereign (Jon), children Nathan, Hannah and Heidi; Tammy Sovereign (Ben), children Eliana and Lylah; Dwayne Kirk (Lisa), son Austin (Shaina) and son Tavian; and Devin Kirk (Trish), children Wyatt and Mila. Olive is survived by her siblings Mildred Ciona (late George), Miriam Wight (Peter), and the late Keith Swift (Maxine), and by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Olive, a dairy farmer, was the resident Haldimand hairstylist, doing the hair of half the county in her home. She loved her time serving as grandma at Ausable Springs Ranch. Olive thrived on loving her grandchildren, both next door and in Australia. Olive’s later years were known for her legendary doll collection and knitting projects. Elementary students enjoyed visiting Olive for years, and she was well loved by her many caregivers. Friends were invited to share their memories of Olive with her family at the Jason Smith Funeral Chapel, 689 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe, for visitation on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 5 –7 p.m. Olive’s homegoing service was held in the chapel on Monday morning at 11 a.m., with Pastor Nathan Randall officiating. Interment: Hartford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in memory of Olive are asked to consider Our Daily Bread or Every Home for Christ.
