June 6, 1937 – October 22, 2026

Surrounded by loved ones, after a brief illness, Nelly/Mom passed on to Glory on Thursday, October 22, 2026, into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, where she is now whole and well again. We rejoice for the full and wonderful life that the Lord blessed her with; her faith life was important to her. Born in the Netherlands to Roelf and Magrietha Suk, she immigrated with her family to Canada in the 1950’s. The family eventually settled in the Niagara Falls area, where she met her husband, Gerald. They married, and their family grew to six children; they lived in St. David’s, Wellandport, and Wainfleet, then settled in Dunnville in 1974. For the last two years, Nelly lived at Shalom Gardens, which she thoroughly loved. She loved her family dearly and rejoiced and celebrated the arrival of each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild. Nelly is predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald (2021), and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Nelly is survived by her children: Marjorie (Ed), Bernie (Wendy), Ray (Tina), Betty (Jim), Nancy (Glen), and Gerald (Holly); 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Tom (Ineke?, Maggie), Margaret (Louis?), and her sisters-in-law, Gre, Willie, Anky, Jenny, and Margaret. Predeceased by her siblings Bill (Rie), Alberta (Abel), Tammo, John, Jane (Nic), Peter, and Gerald’s siblings and spouses. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 17 Robinson Rd., Dunnville. Celebration of Life service is at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 17 Robinson Road, Dunnville, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Special thanks to the care she received from the staff at Shalom Gardens, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, and McNally Hospice House. Nelly’s family extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during the last few weeks of her life. Please consider donating to Shalom Gardens or McNally House Hospice instead of flowers. Arrangements entrusted to BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville, 905-774-7277. Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.ballardminorfh.ca.
