Clifford Phipps of Caledonia passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in his 89th year. Predeceased by his wife, Jill (Dyer) Phipps (November 21, 2022), formerly of Port Dover. Loving father to his two daughters Lisa Sebok (Jonathan) of Tillsonburg and Lori Brownell (Chris) of Ancaster. Loving grandfather to his four grandchildren: Troy Sebok (Emily Mendonca), Trevor Brownell (Felicia Dodsworth), Devin Sebok, Nicole Brownell (Steve Gagnon) and loving great-grandfather to Jack Gagnon. Cliff was born on August 4, 1935 on the farm in Haldimand County to (Alonzo) Clifford and Frances (Moore) Phipps. He moved into town when he was 10 and has lived in Caledonia ever since. He worked in the metallurgical department of Dofasco until his retirement in 1990. When he was younger he volunteered with the Kinsmen and later the K-40. In his later years he delivered Meals on Wheels with Jill and volunteered at the Caledonia Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 154. He really enjoyed selling poppies and marching with his fellow Legion members in local parades. Cremation has taken place and there will be no public service.
