Quietly at Woodlands of Sunset, Welland, on Thursday, July 16, 2026 Joan Sutor (née Rohrbach), of Dunnville, in her 92nd year. Loving and memorable Mom to Greg (Debbie), Doug, Janice (Terry), and Michael (Patricia). Cherished Grandma to Joel and Emily, Taylor and McKenzie, Rachel and Brittany, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack (1991). Joan was born in Fisherville to Walter and Emma (née Reichheld) Rohrbach. Dear sister of Raymond and Marilyn, and sister-in-law to Robert Dennis. Predeceased by her sister Joyce and her twin sister Janet, to whom she was ever-bonded. Dear sister-in-law to Ferne Nash. Predeceased by her sister and brothers-in-law, Joy and Alan Guest, and Ray Nash. Mom enjoyed much laughter with her cousins in both the Rohrbach and Sutor families and loved visits with her nephews and nieces. Joan’s love of her family and her friends, her kindness and sociability to her community and her church, will be long remembered. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Woodlands of Sunset Long-Term Care Home in Welland for their compassionate care, friendliness, and attention. Mom had a very fun-loving and outgoing personality. She was a farmer’s wife who helped with chores. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, sewing, bird watching, bowling, lawn bowling, playing cards, singing in many church choirs, Summer Fair competitions with her twin sister, and volunteering (church catering, Meals on Wheels). She was a favourite employee at Kohler’s Home Hardware. This was Mom, and even with all this, there was so much more. She will be forever loved and missed by her family, and we know she now lives in eternal joy in Heaven. For those of you who knew Joan, she liked wearing bright-coloured patterns and chunky jewelry to match, and everyone is encouraged to wear bright colours to her funeral to honour her.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1308 Hwy. 3 E., Dunnville, on Tuesday, July 28, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Michael Meleg officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Windecker Cemetery.
