TOMLINSON, Dorothy

Peacefully passed in her sleep on July 16, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late James Tomlinson. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her dearly loved companion Dino Bartolini. Mom loved the many trips they took to Myrtle Beach; dinners out and watching their favorite TV shows together. When she moved to the apartment, she didn’t think she would have anything to do. Well, she played euchre, bingo, boccia ball, weekly tea and coffee gatherings, gardening and daily walks, which always meant stopping at McDonald’s before going home. Mom looked forward to her weekly hair appointments with Maureen. Mom loved spending time with her daughter getting manicures and pedicures together, then showing off her fancy nail polish. She looked forward to the weekly outing to Rymal Road Community Church. Then afterwards she got to visit with her brothers, sister and brother-in-law and other family members over lunch. Can we say a happy life! Mom loved talking to people and was always ready for a great story. Loving mother to Louise Geczy († Steve), Barbara († Douglas) Tomlinson, Ken (Lorrie) Tomlinson, Sharon Tomlinson (Dave), Neil (Tina) Tomlinson. Cherished grandma and great-grandma to Chris, Katrina, Lydia, Kylie, Lucas, Paul, Anita, Douglas, Emilia, Colin, Krystal, Travis and Ocean-lee. Loving sister to †Margorie († Harold Tossell), Malcolm Ecker († Patricia), †Marie (Howard Laidman), Harvey Ecker († Bonita), Larry (Diane) Ecker. She will be missed by several nieces and nephews. We would like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospital, 7 surgical, 7 rehab, MG4, doctors and nurses for their excellent and compassionate care of Mom.
