NELLES CORNERS—Among the many traditions to be enjoyed during the upcoming Victoria Day weekend is the Vintage Farm Equipment and Collectibles Tour that runs May 20-22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The self-guided tour is an opportunity to explore agricultural innovations from decades past and learn about that history from the collectors who are striving to keep the heritage alive. Tour organizer Jim Heaslip says, “The tour helps maintain our heritage for the next generations to see.” Pictured above, Steve Arnold (left) is lubricating an antique rock crusher that will be operating during the tour as Heaslip (right) looks on. Items from more than 30 collectors will be featured at six locations including the Walpole Antique Farm Machinery Assocation (WAFMA, 2050 Main St. S., Hwy 6, Jarvis); Dave and Mike Doughty’s (53 Talbot St. E., Jarvis); Jim and Guy’s Hart Parr Haven (3910 Hwy 3, Nelles Corners); Sitter Massey Memories Museum (4023 Hwy 6, Hagersville); Drilling Rig Museum (259 Kohler Rd., Selkirk); and Doug and Vera Greenfield’s (784 Conc. 13, Hagersville). Maps are available at WAFMA, Hart Parr Haven, and the Sitter Museum. For more information call Jim at 905-512-6711. —Haldimand Press photo by Sheila Phibbs.
