August kicks off with third annual Emancipation Day gathering in Canfield

CANFIELD—Heritage Haldimand and Haldimand County hosted the third annual Emancipation Day gathering on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Canfield Community Centre. Emancipation Day recognizes the Abolition of Slavery Act, which became law on August 1, 1834 and freed thousands of slaves.
