Babysitting course available at Haldimand libraries

HALDIMAND—Haldimand County youth aged 11 to 15 can now register at the Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville, Hagersville, Selkirk, and Jarvis library branches for the Red Cross Babysitting course. 

The course is a nationally recognized program designed to help participants develop the self-assurance, knowledge, and skills required for not only babysitting duties, but also being at home alone. Topics covered in the course include caring for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children, as well as creating safe environments and how to handle emergencies.
