DUNNVILLE—On Friday, December 2, 2022, Bethany United Church in Attercliffe Station held their first-ever live nativity telling the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth. This event came together in approximately three and a half weeks with the help of local farmers providing animals and bedding. The congregation came together as a whole from several people “chained to their sewing machines” making the costumes, to acting out the parts and assisting wherever needed. “It was a labour of love,” said Rev. Dianne Everitt proudly of the event. At least 150 people came through the display during the two-night event with Friday night being a very cold and blustery evening. Everitt concluded, “I believe this will be an annual event.” Above in the manger is (back, l-r) Alvin Topp, Matt Kennes (Joseph), Jocelyn Kennes (Mary) with baby Olivia in her arms, (front) Robin Topp, Oakley, McKinley, Russel, Brooklyn, Lily, and Krista Heeg.

Olivia VanRavenswaay of Dunnville was an angel in the tree. She is sitting on a deer stand.
