CANFIELD—When Brad Adams of Canfield decided to embark on his Ride for the Registry last month, his plan was simply to give something back to the community.
He wanted to thank everyone who had risen to support his wife, Shannon, with the Match4Shannon campaign leading to about 1,000 people signing up as new stem cell donor registrants in the hopes of finding a match to help fight her rare form of cancer, Acute Plasma Cell Leukemia Multiple Myeloma.
“I never expected the ride to become what it did,” said Adams. “I felt that I had in some way let them all down, with the information that Shannon was no longer eligible for the transplant.”
