CALEDONIA/DUNNVILLE—The Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit office currently located at 282 Argyle Street South will soon be moving.

“The current location in Caledonia is no longer a feasible option for Health and Social Services (HSS) as of the end of April 2020,” said Kyra Hayes, Supervisor of Corporate Affairs for Haldimand County. The move was precipitated by the expiration of the lease at the current location.

Once renovations are complete,  expected in April, the Health Unit will be found at 100 Haddington Street inside the Haldimand County Caledonia Centre. The lease of 1,340 square feet (sq. ft.) of space in this building to Norfolk was recently approved by Haldimand Council. Haldimand’s Administration Accomodation Review listed the current office as having 2,010 sq. ft. of office space and 360 sq. ft. of support space. This means the new office is 56.5% of the current space, a loss of 43.5%.

On the other side of the county, 5,017 sq. ft. of space was approved in the Dunnville Multi-Purpose Facility, which includes 2,944 sq. ft. as currently rented and 2,073 sq. ft. of expansion, an increase of 70.4%.
