Caledonia resident is area’s newest millionaire with lottery win

CALEDONIA—The Lotto Max odds have shone in favour of Kerry O’Connor of Caledonia! She won a Maxmillions prize worth $1 million in the February 6, 2024 Lotto Max draw.

O’Connor, 51, says this is her first big win and she plays Lotto Max a few times a month. The winning ticket was purchased at IDA Pharmacy on Talbot Street in Cayuga.

“I was sitting at my desk, and I could see my purse from across the room. I decided to clean it out and saw a few tickets laying around, so I checked them using the OLG app and it said I won. I was so freaked out – I was in shock,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her windfall.

“I ran downstairs to tell my husband and kids and they were all doing the happy dance. I jumped up and down a few times,” O’Connor recalled.

“It’s an amazing feeling. This win has taken a huge burden off me and will help me in many ways.”

O’Connor plans to pay off some bills, invest and take a family trip to Italy.

Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 100 jackpot wins and 862 Maxmillions prizes across the province.
