HAGERSVILLE — The Hagersville Lions and the Hagersville Chamber of Commerce held their last draw for Catch the Ace on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Hagersville Legion.

A new record of 2,710 tickets were sold and the weekly winner’s share of 20% from the night’s sales amounted to a respectable $3,628. The jackpot last week was at $29,090. In conversation with people attending, one woman said that winning this amount would be “life changing.”

The ticket draw revealed Ken Hewitt as our weekly winner. Of the remaining 24 envelopes to be opened, one will have the Ace of Spades in it.

Ken chose envelope #22. The tension and the anticipation was high and the room quieted so much you could nearly have hear a pin drop. The card in envelop #22 was the 5 of Spades!

This means we get to go another week and the new estimated jack pot is $34,444! Wouldn’t that be a fantastic Christmas present, eh?

I agree that this is a life changing amount – give yourself a chance to win over $34,000 and come to the Hagersville Legion and buy either one ticket for $10 or three tickets for $20.

At the same time, let’s keep in mind why we are holding Catch the Ace – to raise funds for the West Haldimand Hospital & Healthcare Foundation, the Hagersville Food Bank, and a small portion for the Hagersville Lions to be donated back into the community.

Good luck to you all!
