SELKIRK—The rolling clouds and drops of rain didn’t put a damper on the spirits of the Cayuga Seniors members who ventured to Cottonwood Mansion on September 2, 2020 for a lunch box social. The cold meal was provided by Shelly’s Family Dining and musical entertainment by “Pat & Mike” was an added treat. Pictured (l-r) are Cayuga Seniors members Gwen McDermid, Susan Dault, and Bill Morgan, who enjoyed a visit.
Cayuga Seniors President Bev Richert, pictured with her husband Murray (left photo), appreciated the work of Donna Armstrong and all the volunteers who organized the lunch and entertainment for the afternoon. She said, “We’re making the best of the weather and a good turnout. It’s nice to see everybody here. Donna has done so much work. We’re thankful for the volunteers.”
Ken and Mary Martindale of Cayuga said they were happy to attend the lunch box social, especially since the Cayuga Seniors Hall remains closed.
There was a meeting of the Armstrongs at the lunch, though Marlene Armstrong Rendall of Grimsby (shown in right photo on the left) says, “I’m not related to any out here!” Rendall shared the afternoon with Lois Armstrong (centre) and Joann Armstrong (right), both of Cayuga. —Haldimand Press photos by Sheila Phibbs.
