Celebrating Special Olympics

HALDIMAND—Knights of Columbus Flag Relay for Special Olympics is more than a symbolic event. It is a year-round, province-wide program to create public awareness for the Knights of Columbus and Special Olympics, which culminated with formal flag raising ceremonies recently for Special Olympics Day.

Special Olympics Day celebrated Special Olympics’ 50th Anniversary in 50 different communities, 50 days prior to the Invitational Youth Games taking place in Toronto from May 14 to 17, 2019. The celebration included community members, Police Services, and the Knights of Columbus, all of which have been key supporters of the Special Olympics movement during its 50 years.
