PORT DOVER—Business owner and mother, Lily Eggink, candidate for the Christian Heritage Party (CHP), lives near Port Dover and has always lived in Haldimand Norfolk. Prior to this election, her involvement in politics was as a voter and volunteer.

In 2015, Eggink volunteered for the CHP candidate by placing signs, handing out brochures, and informing constituents of CHP Canada’s platform. She recognized that politics needed to adhere to the Preamble of the Canadian Constitution which states, “Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law.” She found that no other party upheld the Preamble. All of the CHP’s policies adhere to the Preamble and to the Charter Rights. Regardless of religious faith, the CHP platform is something all Canadians already stand behind and believe in if they stand behind and believe in the Charter and its Preamble.

The primary platform points Eggink is running on are life, family, and freedom.
