HALDIMAND—Haldimand County Council appointed 63 citizens to the County’s various boards and committees.

At the beginning of each term of Council, citizens must be chosen to ensure the boards and committees continue to fulfil their mandates.

Interested members of the public can submit an application for as many boards and/or committees as they wish to be considered for.

The County received over 100 applications of individuals wishing to serve on one or more of the boards. County staff reviewed the candidates and Council received the recommendations in a closed-to-the-public session last week before announcing the selected citizens.

The Accessibility Advisory Committee promotes a barrier-free Haldimand for all people, regardless of their needs. They work to ensure everyone can participate in the community by supporting accessibility planning issues in all departments of the County. The committee can advise on building, communication, and transportation issues.
