Commercial motor vehicle traffic blitz results in numerous charges

HALDIMAND—Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Wellington, Essex, and Haldimand Detachments, along with members of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team (TIME) and inspectors with Ministry of Transportation (MTO), conducted a three-day Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) traffic safety blitz on July 20, 21, and 22, 2020.

On July 20, Essex OPP, West Region TIME, and the MTO conducted 24 CMV and five pickup truck inspections, which resulted in 10 vehicles being taken out of service. OPP also laid nine charges under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
