Community rallies for Zoey
HAGERSVILLE—On Sunday, September 13, 2020 around 80 Haldimand residents, all socially distancing and wearing masks, arrived at the Sandusk Golf Course in order to spend a day relaxing and helping to raise funds for young Zoey Gilbertson, a local toddler from Hagersville in need of a costly operation. Coordinators of the fundraiser, Danny Forbes and (shown above with the Gilbertson family) Frank and Dale Vecero, gathered over 80 prizes. In total, the fundraiser amassed $2,565 for little Zoey, bringing the amount of money raised by the community to $60,000 overall. “We’re very grateful for everything the community has done for us,” said parents Tyler and Rebecca. —Haldimand Press photos by Kurt Lewis.
